That is so the right decision Nick, such sad news.

I shall be packing it in at the grand old age of 55 in 19 months time. Hubby will be 62 and will also retire. He is lucky that he has a final salary pension, plus another pension we forgot about that has a nice lump.sum in. I have 2 pensions too so we should be ok.

We will move when we retire but no idea where too - mayne abroad, maybe UK. Still researching options

So sorry Nick and yes grab every day with Jan that you can.

Went to see my financial chap today and yes I could start dipping into the pension I got when I was divorced as I'm over 55 (56 next week ) but it just cuts down what is left until my state pension at 67. I might review it again at 60 when my NHS can be started. I only work 25 hours a week and most of the time like my job although twice this week 2 patients have mentioned (once to me and once to a doctor ) how grumpy I am this week. Sometimes nobody knows what's going on in your home life. Hopefully by next week I will be back to normal :-)

So sorry to hear your news Nick. You've definitely made the right decision about work.
