Wonders whether Dio went to school with my brother and then realises that baby bro didn't leave school until 87/88.
Being at school was easier than working in one I think.

I left school in 1970, graduated in 78 and married a few weeks after Charles and Diana in 81. All boys grammar for me and wasted most of my teenage years and early 20s.

Is it a 50 thing?

I should be running about stressing about work, things I need to do but haven't got resource/time to do.... but I am taking a step back and saying I can do what I can, what I cant will wait. If I wasn't here none of it would get done. I'm tired of running myself ragged to do the impossible.

I quite like it - need to apply it to personal life too although today I feel it is coming!

Had a bit of an "age" thing today. Fell walking above Thirlmere and we came to a stream that needed crossing. Mr SD jumped across, but our dog (14 months) wouldn't follow. I then couldn't bring myself to jump it either, whereas a few years ago, I wouldn't have given it a second thought (to be fair, greasy rocks and fast fastish flowing water was involved!). Even think the time has come to invest in some walking poles to help on the descents 🤔😕 What is happening to me? 😂😂

SD, I think there's an unconscious protective mechanism that is aware of the likelihood of us breaking something if we fall! - In my case, I seem to have learnt (for now) how to stay on my feet when I trip, that's a reflex I didn't know I had and had got used to measuring my length on the pavement.

I am another that didn’t enjoy or fit in at school. I underperformed as a result and that is one of my regrets in life.

I am more careful as I've got older - I believe I am more clumsy than I am in reality. Walking poles really helped to increase my pace when going down rocky hills.

Wish I could do that trip thing, Rosehip - last couple of falls I've had, my reaction was so slow that my face hit the floor before I could put my hands out.
