I'm considerably older than you, HellsBells, and probably much slower as well. Haven't raced for ages, but do parkruns.
Have come first in category in every parkrun I've done this year.
Was also last in category in every parkrun this year, except for one, when I was first out of 2.

Orbness, welcome
Impressed, Runningfoxx
I ran my third-fastest marathon ever at 50 off a build-up that included more cycling than running, and hoped to beat my time at 55 by doing mostly running in training, but it didn't happen, partly due to conditions on race day but that's a risk you take when you target an event. My plan next time round is to be in reasonable condition and uninjured and have done SOME running, and throw myself at a fast course and see what happens.

I'd love a WAVA higher than my age McG - that would be an all time WAVA PB
Sorry, didn't mean to sound petulant - been having yet another mini crisis recently, ignore me and normal service will be resumed soon

54.98% WAVA at last week’s Parkrun and I’m 55. I’ve never really looked at one before (but then I don’t do road running/racing)

I wonder how the over 100s club would feel about the challenge of wava greater than age

I believe Fauja Singh achieved a 5k wava of 100+

Well clearly a small number of runners will have achieved it occasionally. But there won't be many such performances in any given year.

Could only manage 69.57 in the Keighley Parkrun whaen I was 86, but got an 80.24 in the Bentham Beagles 10K in my 80's.

Runningfoxx you’re an inspiration to us ‘kids’ in our 50’s
I’m sure I’ve seen Fauja Singh had a WAVA of 107 possibly for Parkrun
