Welcome, jb62! I had some leggings that would gradually work their way towards the ground in races and had to be held up with a running belt. Could've used some braces, I suppose.

As if official race photos of me weren't horrifying enough, I've had an email link from the Milton Keynes Marathon offering me the chance to buy a video of me finishing the race last Monday. Not sure why I'm always surprised by the difference between how I think I look when I run (graceful fleet-footed gazelle sort of thing) and how I actually look (bad extra from a really cheap zombie apocalypse film). And why anybody in the universe would think I'd want to spend money on the latter is beyond me.

To you. I have been gradually getting back to fitness since my knee injury last June and haven't raced since. My first race will be the Race for Men in June and is a multi terrain 10k.

The problem with fetcheveryone is you can't edit posts, and the first half of my post to JB has disappeared!

JB - I have been AWOL from RW for ages, simply because it takes such an age to move around the website. Keep meaning to go back and say Hello to TS and Redhead and all the others.

JB62 - hello. I don't blame you for deserting RW as it's such a pile of shite these days. However, HS, Red & myself (along with a few others including Columba) persevere. As HS says, the biggest 'problem' is no edit facility on Fetch meaning any typos etc. are saved for posterity.

Jabberknit - one of my running friends went to run a race in London with her son. When she went to get changed she discovered she'd forgotten her tracksters. She had to borrow a pair from her son but because (to quote her own words) "my bum is bigger than his" she spent the race holding them up as they kept working their way down.

4 season's bests for me last night: 100m, (average but going in the right direction. Used blocks, no other 060 did) shot put - good, v. close to newish PB, same with discus if not quite so close to PB.) HJ awful but best outdoors so far.

Also won long jump ... becasue the other over 60s (and most of the over 50s ) were even worse. I can jump a lot further so was disappointed, but it was the end of a complicated, over packed night. As per.

Congratulations Sharkie, you are a star!

I was gutted, in a way, to come 13th out of 16 in my age cat (LV60-64) in last night's 10k. That's mainly because when I first joined that age group four years ago, I used to be one of maybe three or four in the age category, so I've been used to appearing to have done better ;-). It seems that women are running further into their... later-middle age shall we call it? Which can only be a very good thing, so I shall try not to be disappointed.
