Don't get me wrong I loved being a spectator there when my son did it but that would be far too busy for me. 5 minutes to get over the start line was perfect for me.

Big applause Lip Gloss for doing it on what looks like a low mileage training regime overall. Phew! The only thing I'd remotely consider entering these days would be a 50 miler..couldn't be doing with so many people all around throughout a race! Even five minutes to get over a starting line would finish me off.

Preferred the Three Peaks race every time with its empty hills, fresh air and wonderful views. But yes, big applause to Lip Gloss for achieving what she set out to do. She was among many who didn't...

I seem to have dropped food down my front and caught it on the "balcony" a few times this weekend. Is that a sign of getting towards my dotage?

Only if your neck isn't flexible enough for you to get your tongue down and lick up the dropped food, alpenrose
(I believe having a balcony means you're not in your dotage.)
