only happens to me if I choose to wear something white, and then almost immediately I drop something on it (no balcony here of course ;))

During my time in Australia we referred to it as a Veranda (best said in an Aussie accent).

Changing the subject slightly, I was wearing shorts the other day, with my front door key in the left hand pocket. I drove into the village, and when I returned to the car, checked my pocket to ensure that my key was still there, but it wasn't. I started to panic, trying to think where I had been. I then had a thought that it might have fallen between the front seats. Thankfully it had, and I very carefully managed to retrieve it.

It’s a strange thing how cars seem to have these gaps from which retrieving things is nigh-on impossible. Certainly the case between the seats and the centre console in our Auris.

Hillstrider - I employ a 'belt & braces' approach these days to keeping my car/door keys safe. Although they should be safe in the zipped pocket, I also use a shoelace from an old pair of running shoes which is looped around the keyring and the drawstring of my shorts.

There was an occasion I went for a run with my key safely zipped into a pocket at the back of my trousers; and at the end of the run, couldn't get the pocket unzipped, zip was totally stuck. Fortunately I was in town rather than at home. Went to seek help from a hairdresser (bound to have scissors and could cut the pocket open). She actually managed to unstick the zip so didn't need the scissors. (Zip is now stuck permanently open).

Columba, I had an old pair of running shorts with a zip pocket at the back. I hadn't worn them for a while, and when I put them on, discovered that the zip was well and truly stuck shut. Luckily, there was nothing in the pocket, so no harm was done.

Hi - I recognise some names here from the runners world forum which I've deserted (for no good reason other than I 'lapsed'). However on 2nd thoughts I was also injured (not unrelated to running a marathon around velodrome late last year) and got out of the habit. Anyway to HS, Columba and WtnMel I do hope you are in good health, form and spirits. Or at least perm 2 from these 3! I'm back running again, mostly parkruns and still chasing the 80% AG. 2018 is proving to be harder than 2017 in this respect. On HS's wardrobe malfunction I recall I ran my best ever 10k holding up my shorts following the elastic snapping just before the race.

Hi and welcome jb62. Welcome back from injury and a fantastic result from holding up your shorts is it something you would recommend?
