Fair point Angus, having occasionally jumped in the north sea around St Abbs Head it's even worse there - and you can probably legitimately say, "that's south too"
EP, I'd be betting on 10-11C somewhere like Ullswater though you may find slightly warmer shallow spots.

14 deg the sea apparently. I did 20 minutes last week including some floating. Felt comfortable once I’d got used to it. Was quite rough.

First dip in the lake this year. Fabulous. 3 teens loving the aquapark and I had a peaceful 800m with the damselflies.

Gah! Just clicked on the webcam at the seaside and what should I see but a group of my swim-buddies all chatting together having just got out of the sea. I'm 120 miles away I hope they all had a lovely swim and I shall try not to be envious!
