Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

That's brilliant - not far from the In-Laws when we are allowed to travel again!

Fantastic calm seas have meant I've been in the last 4 days running. So beautiful.

Doing about 20 mins with a wetsuit if swimming properly, or about 6 mins for a heads up breaststroke skins dip, but think I can extend both.

Shingle beach was frozen solid on NYE and NYD.

It sounds brilliant but too cold for me! :-)

I got a basic changing robe for Christmas so I'm ready for OW swimming this year. When does the water start to warm up? I think it would be foolhardy to try it when I've lost all my cold water acclimatisation.

Not much snow locally, but a little further afield they've had to be true fritters out!

We are swimming in around 3-4 degrees. You really feel the difference in those few and have noted the air temp and weather makes a huge difference to the after swim

Making some new routines. One thing I am finding brilliant is to have oversized fleece
Gloves and a big oversized fleece top in my tow float to chuck on straight out of the water. I am learning that I need to take my cozzie straps down and swim gloves off and then put the dry ones straight on. Going to practice this more in Jan as it seems to just take back that initially bite

Also finding a skins proper dip at the end helpful although didnt do it today as just too cold so chickened out!

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
