Anyone wanting to take a punt on a new wetsuit HUUB have a new OW version available for pre order for the end of Feb priced at £139 huubdesign.com Pretty good price for a new wetsuit and I found the quality of my HUUB wetsuit to be much superior to others that I've worn. |

Just bought one. I@m on the border of sizing and the larger one was sold out. I guess I can return/exchange if it's a disaster. Thank you, Scribbs.

Just noticed this thread.....I shall have a nosey. I'm not sure why but I really fancy some open water swimming. I love living in Derbyshire, but I miss the sea - I was raised down south by the sea. ![]() |

For open water swimming, does everyone wear a wet-suit? Does it need to be full or would one of the ones that go to the elbows / knees be sufficient? *more newbie questions will follow..... ![]() |

Plenty of people open water swim without a wetsuit. You’ll see that referred to as swimming ’skins’. Some people just wear regular swim wear, but might add hat, gloves, boots or a rash vest for extra warmth. KatieB and I think maybe some others have tried long sleeved swimming costumes. Wetsuits do help with warmth and buoyancy. So even a shortie suit would help a bit. The main thing with OW swimming is to do it safely. There should be some links alongside this thread, I think. The RNLI has good advice about safe swimming and cold water |

I was thinking of that D2, not far from home at all. There's a few spots round that area that I've seen people at when I've been running. ![]() |

I thought I was going to have to go in and assist someone this morning whilst we were on our beach walk. Daft bugger was wading around the point in his jeans and boots, stumbled into a hole and went up to his waist and was flailing a bit. Even his dog wasn't very keen to follow him round. Fortunately he managed to get a grip and get himself and the dog back to the beach. It was snowing at the time. Hope he didn't have far to walk back home! |
