Wetsuit and goggles off, towel poncho on. Costume off. Dry off with poncho. All in one shorts/tee shirt on ( I think it’s called a play suit). Poncho off. Hoodie on, Dry robe. Swap swim hat for bobble then trousers, booties off. Socks and fake Ugg’s on. Hot chocolate.

I live very near where I swim and don't wear a wet suit so; towelling robe on hood up, dry robe on hood up, swimsuit off, dry body with towelling robe, shoes on ....... get in car and drive home. Simples...... Not any more though cos its closed. I'm going to investigate local rivers so will probably need a wetsuit and will have to stop bragging.

ooo- sheepskin-lined crocs? I have (had) a pair of fleece-lined garden clogs for camping, but for some reason, the dog reverted to puppyhood and destroyed them.Sheepy-lined crocs sound like the perfect replacement

I have this routine.. rash vest off, take cozzie straps down so just swimsuit covering boobage, lovely warm cotton t shirt (warmed by hot water bottle “on” then lakes walking jkt with bodywarmer middle and single layer arms (amazing thing!) and teeny hot water bottle stuffed and zipped in. Then a bit of a paul daniels move to whizz off the swimsuit and abra cadabra into the legs of onsie and zip up. Next take off swimshoes and neoprin socks. I normally stand on my towel at this stage
- feet. Into lidl fluffy crocs, I tried this with socks this weekend and that is the don!
- legwarmers. Feel that inner 80’s disco queen!
- hot water bottle stuffed up jumper, love black coffee and a tunnocks
- lastly. Change into a bobble hat
Wonder when we also need gloves?

Aw, I wish I lived close to the sea. HP - you are so lucky up there. I might have to dip into the polluted river at Conham and then cycle or run home. On a mild day, I reckon I'll run there in a tri suit, swim and then run home drying on the way. It's only about 15-20 mins run from where I live.

I feel a bit guilty as I have pretty much decided to wait until Spring to start swimming. Unless a really good bargain wetsuit presents itself. I waited too long to try it and it’s just too cold for a long John wetsuit without a chance to acclimatise.
