Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I know this is cheap but is it any good or do I need a specific mm thickness?

Or this but no hood.

She said she found she was colder with a wet suit last week than just her costume particularly getting out and changed. Don’t want to spend a fortune but equally needs to be right.

I'm not sure either of those will work. Have a look at the triathlon section on Wiggle for manufacturers.

That first one is a swimming costume. I could be worth a try, but it isn't a wetsuit. I'm fairly confident the second one is a general purpose wetsuit which won't be very good for swimming. Difficult to be certain without seeing it.

I've got 2 lots of training at the lake - hooray! (I work there about one day a week as a lifeguard.)

In the meantime, I'm going to be having cold showers to stay acclimatised I reckon.

I bought a really funky top in a sale last year and thought it was a running top. I went to meet a friend for a run and she said "nice rash vest!". I had no idea!

Most swim or triathlon wetsuits are 3mm thick (mileage may vary as you get into top end suits) Other water sports wetsuits are 5mm - which is warmer but less flexible for swimming. Wiggle own brand or aquasphere would be my recs.

You should be able to get something new for around £100 or maybe find an ex rental for cheaper.
