Person in a sport where the aim is to beat up your opponent is complaining about being beaten up by her opponent.

Well there was the women's road race last time when they reeled in the breakaway.....except they didn't realise one of them was still a couple of minutes up the road :-)

No radios in the Oly Road Race like they have in World Tour races so communication to the riders is a lot more difficult, plus national teams capped at 4 and internal rivalries between riders from the same nation but who ride for different pro teams can make it a very interesting race. Strange things can happen.

Pity that Azu false started in the 100m but a good run for Hinchliffe. No really quick times so far. I presume that those automatically qualifying are holding something back for the second round although Jacobs (reigning champion) struggled to qualify in 10.06. Either that or I am starting to wonder whether it isn't a particularly fast track.

I thought one of the selling points was that this was supposed to be a very fast track, wasn't it?

When I said it was boxing’s mess above I see the IOC now making its own mess and changed yesterday’s press release and in quite a significant way too.

Still it’s none of the boxers’ faults.

Transgender is not the same as a DSD.

Diogenes - in general would you agree that someone who has XY chromosomes but a developmental disorder that means they have some female appearing characteristics is still male?

I’m not a scientist but there are exceptions.

Though neither do I think that’s a full context of the argument when it comes to sports’ division between male and female.

About This Thread

Maintained by Curly45
Couldn't find a thread so thought I would start one.

Who else is off to watch or who is watching at home?

We're doing Lille and Paris and a mix of sports. Currently trying to find travel insurance that includes ticket cancellation as some of the trains in the UK might be difficult and we have some internal French trains to do as well.

Also need to work out the new Paris metro ticket/app combo (Navigo I think).
