Aye, that's not like me. I didn't really want my tea on Saturday either, or my start line snack yesterday. Should have realised.

Shite timing to be ill @Velociraptor . Get well soon!

What: running rest day - should take my achy legs for a walk or turn the pedals a bit
Why: yesterday's long run was a bit too hilly
Last hard: yesterday

Lyrics: nope!

Sorry Valencia wasn't what you'd hoped @Velociraptor .

Wishing you a swift recovery and hope rest of holiday goes well.

4h labour to fit 2 headlights!!! - sounds like a dealer not to go back to @alehouse

Another grey morning - plan is up the hill to add a few more miles - I may be struggling to get 100 this month (or 101 for 750 in 2024) as we're away twice. Away tomorrow morning!

Busy day yesterday (run, swim, AV support for church service followed by first rehearsal with AV (my part) for "Les Mis - the Nativity" (Nativity Show using songs from Les Mis). Latter took all afternoon.

Hi

Vrap - I think it's clear that you weren't well, so getting as far as you did is epic in itself.
When you look back and reconsider, I think you'll be pleased at how well you actually did.

Rest up and recover , and cake for breakfast is what the sweet life is made of!
Hazel - well done on yesterday's long one, not surprised legs a little sore today

What - something shorter and easier at lunchtime
Why - last three days have been around 10 miles each, so a recovery day

last rest - Thursday
last hard - finding motivation yesterday
lyric - not so sure

Morning :)

Lyrics - yes :)

what - Just get out there and jog about a bit
why - haven't run for 10 days, that's a long a break as I've had in the last 5 years or so and without a virus as an excuse.

Up and down the hill (walk /jog), bitterly cold wind but the rain stopped!
Vrap - get better soon, shame for flu to have spoilt the holiday never mind the marathon. I didn't know you could get LFTs that tested for flu too over the counter!

I'm not sure you can in the UK, @ElspethF, although you can get them (expensively!) on Amazon. If I'd remembered to bring Covid tests from home, the only information I'd have would be "it's not Covid". Not that it makes any difference really except that I'm kicking myself for not having made more of an effort to get jabbed earlier in the autumn.

I turned up for appointment I'd been given for flu/Covid Jag but because no longer nhs worker didn't get it as a year too young, will get offered again when 65 next year! I could have lied and said I had some clinics lined up but didn't want to do that!

About This Thread

Maintained by Velociraptor
Good morning, and thank you all for your nice words yesterday.

Lyrics: Theme DECEMBER.
I felt a rush like a rolling ball of thunder
Spinning my head around and taking my body under

What: I might get out of bed. I might even haul myself down the road to the café and the supermarket.
Why: I'm definitely not well (wouldn't have tried to start a marathon the way I feel now) but we're out of fizzy drinks and I can probably manage some cake for breakfast.
DOMS: No, not yet.
