Menopause and running

Over the last few years I've started getting vertical splits in some of my fingernails and I haven't found a fix. I keep my nails as short as possible but I've currently got 4 with the issue and it's so annoying as they keep catching on stuff.

I have one nail with vertical ridges and occasional splits, and I’ve found buffing the surface regularly does help to reduce splitting. I’ve also noticed that my nails are a stress indicator, they get thin and break easily after stressful times. (Albeit 2-3 months later).
