Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Ordnance Survey painting real-life contours on the hills grough.co.uk
A joke so old that there was undoubtedly a version where they were having to scrub out the imperial contours and replace with metric.

Can they paint them further apart, so the hills are less steep?
And shouldn't they be brown?

Is anyone else having problems exporting gpx files from os maps?

Instead of downloading/ saving as a file I could export into here, it’s just opening the file in the browser window
Which is not exactly helpful

I tried on my phone from the ap - which gave me the option to export to garmin connect or send a link by email - it used to just download a file

What have I mucked up?

On my phone app it gives me the option to export it to Google drive - that would be an option to save the file if it helps? No simple save option for me either on the app though.

On browser on my mobile the export option still downloads the file.

Sorry, not sure if that's helpful or not.

On the app on my Android phone it’s giving me options to send GPX to Bluetooth, OneDrive, Quick Share, Share as link, (Google) Drive - but not straight to my downloads folder on the phone storage.

Can save it okay on my iPad though…

Ipad with chrome still just opens file view - but it gave me the download option using safari

I’ve had all sorts of problems with os since they did their update, I might well not renew the subs this time.

I was using the app on the iPad, rather than browser.

Previously, my Cubs (8-10yrs) have been totally unengaged with my interest in maps. This week I took in my 3D relief map of Snowdon and the Explorer of Snowdonia, and they were suitably involved! We also printed off the map symbol flash cards, which they liked. Not that I know what they all are...

We use the flash cards at Scouts. Good resource.
