Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Encountered this site today en-gb.topographic-map.com Might be of some interest :-)

(Actually mentioned once before, by @Cerrertonia in March 21, but it's not on the sidebar.)

Found as I'd read @Yorkshire Pie's blog and wondered what altitude Clermont Ferrand was at.

Not sure whether this is the best thread, but here goes ...

I have two maps to give away: Bodensee West and Bodensee Ost, published by Kümmerly+Frey on waterproof paper at a scale of 1:35,000. Ideal for hiking or cycling. The Bodensee may be better know to English-speaking readers as Lake Constance!

Free to a good home. I'll pay second-class UK postage.

This is really neat. And not just UK only. Particularly like the way the colour shading is relative, so intervals change according to max relief on any given viewport. Checked out my old childhood haunts on the Cromer ridge in north Norfolk. Pleased to see lots of red high ground at only 100m. :)

You can get red high ground at 25m around Holme Fen. And my house at 225m above sea level can be shown as blue if I select the right window on the map.

I have a plastic 3-d topographic relief map of the Yorkshire Dales on my wall - really very good for visualising the landscape and how the hills and roads and rivers fit together.
