@rosehip, I do really like the OS maps app, but I have some irritations with it....

The main one being the way it deals with offline is poor, when you open a map, it will try do download a tile, pinging away to the server using battery and slowing everything down and take ages to decide it hasn't got the tile before looking to see if it is in the download cache. Poor. I want an app that goes to offline first and only tries to download a tile that is not already offline.

So, when you have a poor signal the OS maps app is a pain

Second....the bloody website will not print to scale by default...I mean, come on

They have come a long way over the years but much more to do

I open the app and go to offline maps
Then either paper or the custom one I’ve saved - does that not keep me offline? Don’t remember having any issues that way
The big problem I had was when the app updated overnight and lost all the offline maps and I had no signal to re download them - but that was only the once

I might have to have a look - some of the trails I use won't work automatically

Yes exactly, it bother me, but now i might get some better maps.
Its a little learning curve at first, but its a great community, and i got answers pretty much immediately on a change that i wanted an extra eye on.

Much more to learn, but now i can at least start changing and editing.
