Merry Christmas & Happy New G(rrr)
Who Squares Wins game is encouraging me to run more than I might otherwise. But probably more local little runs, rather than more total. Tomorrow is the end of WSW week, but my rest day, so I'm conflicted. I might log a walk to the shops or something! :-) G

I found WSW was too addictive and I was running when I didn’t want to. I stopped playing a while ago and feel better for it.

I also find that WSW has a bad influence on me. I can't just get on with my usual training and let it run in the background. I've taken the last few weeks off but will probably screenshot my current position on the leaderboard then leave the game.

I'm in!

I value rest days, it's when my body gets a chance to repair and prepare for what more I'm going to ask of it 😉
I had a rest day yesterday and planned my training for London, it's now all printed out and on the pin board looking splendid 😊

Sigh
Being the stat geek that I am, I've used my Garmin calendar to put together a chart of activity and rest days for the last two years.

Haven't yet reached an opinion on what I should aim for regarding rest days, my gut feel says 20 days running per month max, and 5 days rest as a minimum, but flex this around associated effort (i.e. if running longer or harder than normal, allow more rest after).

I do actually pay some attention to the recovery advisor on my Garmin watch; currently (7pm) says "14 hours", having run 5 miles this morning finishing at 9:15 this morning. I have a 5k run planned for tomorrow morning which will be in about 13 hours time :-O, then complete rest on NYE.

OH and I have decided to go for a walk tomorrow with a cafe stop for a brew. The sun is supposed to shine all day so that’s something to make the most of.

About This Thread

Welcome to what may be the least watched, least contributed to, thread ...ever.

It's for everyone (well, me) that thinks real Rest Days are vital and a grand thing in themselves. And for everyone (well, me) who feels that one day at a time DONE WELL is always better than half arsed for-evers.

There will be RULES of course (my ball, my game)
