Snap Trin! Mine is 48-52 these days. Was around 42 in my 50s, perhaps age bumps it up a beat or two - I dunno!

My lowest recorded RHR is mid-40s and that's been consistent over the years. When I measure a heart rate under 60 in a young person I ask if they do sport; in an older person the first thing I'd do would be to check their medication and medical history.

Sharkie, you're going to live forever! You'll be like one of those people they feature on the news who are fully active and fit at 136 years old 😂

Had a disturbed night last night and suspected my HR was a little elevated - which turned out to be correct. I was feeling a bit under par but struggled (badly) round my xc race today. Mentioned it to my coach who has immediately ordered a rest day tmrw.
I'm somewhat relieved.

Sounds like a sensible coach, TeeBee!
Cross training day for me today. I climbed very well after more than 24hrs rest and triple carbs for lunch beforehand. Whodathunkit?

I read something today about living longer and exercise and thought - well that explains Sharkie then, but being a senior of little memory, I can't for the life of me remember what it was! (it may have had something to do with enjoying the arts and dance as well as sport?)

Ooh wish you could remember what it was because yes, they are my three 'things'.
I like your coach Teebs! In league with Bint's coach (if they did but know it)
I'm not sure whether to take my full rest day tomorrow or Tuesday. I'll be travelling back to London from the coast on Tuesday which effectively takes half the day and is a bit of a slog in itself. I have a lot of 'stuff' going on - and 'stuff' can be just as tiring and reserves depleting as any physical exercise.

Yes, this...
"and 'stuff' can be just as tiring and reserves depleting as any physical exercise."

Monday is usually my total rest day (though not always) and I'm looking forward to it as I've worked hard this week
