I did my "long" run today. It was fine, and my perceived effort aligned well with my numbers. It was only 8.4 miles; I'm sure I could have done 11 or 12, but I didn't have time and I'm limiting my continuous running (or continuous anything) in the hope of achieving a reasonable balance between continuing to train and avoiding the development of further damage in the already damaged area of my knee.

My lunchtime gym visit was stretching and foam rolling, then 5 minutes in the sauna

Trin, that *is* low. Made me google what is lowest - 27 apparently, by a UK pensioner called Martin Brady. Ironically, the term for dangerously low heart rate is Bradycardia, but nothing to do with Brady. Comes from bradus, Greek for slow, apparently!
Medical websites say anything less than 60 - 100 resting heart rate is "slow". I bet there's almost no one on this website whose resting HR is above 60! G

My Garmin thinks mine is 48 but I find that hard to believe.

Mine generally hovers around 49 to 52, when it was 36 I may have had an out of body experience 😂

My resting HR according to Garmin is usually low 50s, but it had me as 45 min HR one day this week. Think it's probably a mistake though.

I can get down to about 48-50 if I'm deliberately sitting calmly with my mind wandering about in the flowers, along a grassy riverbank etc. More likely in the mid 50s for sitting watching TV or the like. I like to tell myself my real resting HR is the lower of those figures, but I'm never certain how comatose I'm supposed to be when identifying resting HR.

G, I misread Mr Brady's heart rate as minus 27 and was wondering how that was possible. Doh!
If my RHR gets above 60 I know I'm either ill, stressed or have been training heavily and need an extra rest day.
