Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Would quite possibly affect the tests Curly, but you could always order them and hold off on taking them until afterwards. Maybe speak to the docs about when to take them?

Only just saw the thread, hoping my Utmost buddy feels better soon - it must be awful to feel so exhausted :(

We aren't even in the same league anymore waaa :(

Feeling bot to tired today but have loads of nerve pain. Have decided to hold off with supplementation until after the test on the off chance and then go for 1000mg a day. If it works and I can absorb at least some of it that would be great for over Xmas as work is really busy and I want to be able to at least go for a run on Xmas day!

Right had the pernicious anemia blood test today, results should be back on Mon. If positive then I can have a shot then I think.

Got my level of B12 which is 179 (200-900 is the reference).

Also awaiting the neuro who was supposed to be looking at my scans yesterday. Hopefully can see him tonight.

Curly, this all sounds awful, and your GPs terrible :(

PH, would there be any point in B12 supplements if intrinsic factor is low and therefore will have trouble absorbing the supplements?

I should also be referred to a haematologist I think... I will mention it on Monday. Definitely going to change gps as soon as I feel better too.

Oh for goodness sake. Am still waiting for blood test results. Told today to ring back monday.

Was looking into buying b12 myself to inject but its not recommended for loading doses. Why is it so hard to get anything done? Seriously, I must be doing something wrong, but I just cant figure out what it is. Sigh.

Its recommended by health professionals but the pernicious anaemia society dont recommend self injection for the first lot due to the risk of hypokalemia... no idea how that works but not going to question it.

I'm wondering about a private gp and if they would do it and how do you find one?
