Good luck with the MRI...they're a bit noisy but not too bad. I too had music. Just think positive about it...and that should get you through it. I had an MRI for fibroids a few years ago and getting onto the table was a bit hard with a cracked rib after a face plant from running!

Curly - I've kept quiet til now, but I think you need to change your GP - we have an urgent neuro clinic every morning where anyone we're worried about can be seen next day on the ward and it's where i would have sent you

HB - I don't think they have anything like that around here... but I will think about changing. The thing is before this I hadn't been registered with a GP for 15 months and I only just joined this one in the summer. Its also two doors away. I have seen both gps in the practice so I would need to find another practice.

Lol to Garfield huffing herself up on the mri table!

Raptors claws are coming to town
That's quite shocking, Curly :(

I do hope you get answers soon. In your situation - going quite rapidly from being extremely healthy and strong to being incapacitated - I'd be pushing for investigations too. It's not as if you're fussing about a wart or something. You've got symptoms that have lots of different potential causes, some of them serious, and getting the serious ones tested for has to be a priority.

(We had no neurology in this county at all until about a year ago.)

I obviously am becoming "that patient", the one the doctor makes a big sigh about when they see my name on the list.

To be fair I don't think she meant it the way it came out, just that maybe I was focusing on the stuff going on in my body too much.

It's hard for them too as I don't look ill, all tests so far have been normal, and my symptoms are unusual. She mentioned fibro for my aches and pains and listening to headphones too much for my tinnitus (I rarely do these days as it happens).

Curly, this sounds so awful. I'm also shocked some basic tests haven't been done, like B12. :-(

re the MRI, pick your favourite relaxing music and get them to play it and tell the person there you are nervous and could they talk to you every few minutes? When I had one done the operator kept saying things like 'oh I like this song, one of my favourites' or just 'ok doing well'

How long after the MRI will they tell you the results and who do the results go to?

Really hope you get an answer soon xxx

Don't know about how to long to wait after the mri or who they go to... that is partly my own fault for seeing the consultant privately first time round. I will ask when I am there. I suspect unless I want to pay again (I cant really afford this but may be able to scrape the money together for it), then it will be at least 2 weeks, likely more.
