Interesting re Potternewton, Sinny - would make it the 8th parkrun in Leeds - 10th within the City Council area if including the two standalone towns of Wetherby & Rothwell.

@Sinny - I am really disappointed that you have shared confidential details about new parkruns, including one I am the co-event director of, Fletcher Moss in Manchester.
We have worked incredibly hard to seek the necessary permissions and funds to start this parkrun and by posting publicly the date you are jeopardising it. If we are overwhelmed by cars this is likely to result in complaints to the Council and we could lose our permission. This is not our stance, although we agree with it, our parkrun ambassador told us this.

Please would you delete the post featuring details of our parkrun or amend it.

We are well aware we will see a rise in numbers coming along as the word spreads but if this happens ‘organically’ over time we will be more able to cope as we develop our ability to manage parking etc. Remember we are new to this and just parkrun lovers!

Our parkrun ambassador has seen this post and is reporting it to parkrun HQ. They think this information is not publicly available and therefore you should know not to share it with the access you have been given.

This all said- We would love to see all the parkrun tourists and our regionnaires as time goes on, we are keen tourists ourselves! My furthest is Krakow. I know tick lists are great but please remember the ethos behind parkrun and protect it for the locals who will come to rely on it for their health and well-being.

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
