Great forum this, but it seems people get removed for asking innocent questions. I may be wrong but if general opinion on here seems to be that attending an Inaugural is such a faux pas why advertise them at all?

Why would it be a badge of honour? Collecting Inaugurals? I don't see why people think it's a big deal or impressive in any way. So you have the money and time to travel round the country to inaugurals every Saturday, whoop! Also that type of person rarely volunteers. A bit like these folk who are collecting all the parkruns in Scotland. I'm not impressed.

I follow this thread to find out about where new parkruns are starting. I've only ever been to 3 inaugurals in 7 years of attending parkrun and one of those I'm on the core team and was volunteering.

I've read 1st post and it also makes it clear why it may not be a popular pastime, i.e. the local organisers don't want large numbers turning up to their inaugural.

Closed those last two.

About This Thread

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
