Fragile Do Not Bend
Turkish get ups get the most ‘complaints’ about in our classes - not so much because they are hard work physically but because us old ladies struggle to remember how to do them 😅

I've not heard of those, FDNB.
Great information, thanks HK.
I'm incorporating glute bridges (single leg) and weighted hip thrusts to strengthen my weak glutes for running.

TGUs remain an aim for me - maybe by Christmas, my glutes on the left aren't strong enough.

I quite enjoy Turkish get ups but we don’t do them often at our gym. I also have a feeling I cheat at them without realising…

On page 419, I think, the three small pics of me - ie a normal (and old) person - show using triple extension.

The jav pic left leg just about to go into it at the point of throwing, the middle pic is drive phase of sprint -see back, right leg for triple extension, and the long jump pic I've just used left leg to get height of the board. It's DEAD important!

I had a quick look at triple extension moves with dumbbells and found dumbbell jump shrugs and dumbbell power cleans which seem to fit the bill. Am I missing anything?

Just to reiterate what was said by more knowledgeable people here in the last few pages.... I started working with a running coach last year, and when I told him about my weight training, he said he was much more interested in me doing strength work as opposed to endurance work, as the latter could be worked on in our running sessions, whilst the former couldn't.

(I'm doing dumbbell cleans in my current phase. I've found a great instructional video if you are interested.)

Cleans are great - they make you feel so RAAAAH! (Even with a relatively dinky weight)

I hated them until I "got it". Took me a while, mind....

And in case you're wondering about that title, well, I like alliteration and one can be too po-faced about the use of girl/lady/woman.
