Evening Pilates used to leave me feeling very relaxed, even if I'd worked quite hard during the session.

Thanks ladies When I run commute I have a hot bath and food but garmin always reports a poor sleep and I often feel I haven’t rested the next day Plus I fidget more and get up in that circle of can’t sleep I’ll have a wee! |

I used to go to pilates classes that late in the evening, prior to my hip being fixed and before becoming a runner. I don't recall that affecting my sleep, Pix. I don't think I've ever done my weight training sessions that time in an evening but I generally sleep well anyway so I probably wouldn't be that great a comparison.

For me later (weights) training can help me sleep so is useful before early starts when I’m generally more restless. idle_wilder - those squats are incredible! Over double what I squat at the moment! |

I've found this week with evening sessions that I'm obviously not sleeping as well/ waking up more - my watch actually questioned if I had worked out before bed! Another massive milestone this morning with PT - a single deadlift at 150kg, with more in the tank (before 3 sets of 5 at 120kg). I just need to get out of my own head! |

I felt my sleep was affected when I started cleaning relatively heavy and then squatting and/ or deadlifting after. I think it was a CNS thing. At the level you're lifting, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same for you IW.

I started doing wall sits last week as I'm realising I don't really want to go to the gym and lift atm but also don't want to be starting from scratch when I return. Obviously no match for real lifting but seem to be a good balance between keeping some loading going and not too much effort.
