Interesting re barbells' weights. I'd assumed the one in the gym here was 15kg but maybe not.

Hmm, they normally 'should' say on the end of the bar but often have been chucked around so much and stored ends down, that the information has disappeared!

The 20kg bars are really long (as well as heavy for the likes of me) that's how I know what they are.

I can only just lift the 20kg bar out of the vertical holder! Also adjusting one on the squat rack is quite tricky.

My gym has one or two shorter 12.5kg barbells as well.

Exactly that, Meglet... a workout before you even start: lift bar out of vertical holder, cart it across room and haul it up onto squat rack.

A few years ago eL Bee! and I would do setting-in for all the main lifts and I'm sure I got a bigger workout from unloading and reloading the bar between sets than from my own lifting.
