Afternoon lovelies - with my foot problem Im having to take a step back from deadlifting and squats at the moment :-(, but with the help of my fab PTI'm working towards my 2020 goal of unassisted pullup(s) :-) loads of arm/back/shoulder stuff and I'm loving it, and its doing my mental health the world of good to have something to aim for :-)

I did a handstand yesterday. Also deadlifted 70kg, which is relatively not very much, but is heavier than me so I find it strangely satisfying.

(I REALLY struggle with the pull up movement. Still at the โ€˜hanging from the bar rocking backwards and forwardsโ€™ stage.)

Nice one, both :-)

I quite like pull-ups, though can only do them assisted with a band at the moment. Patience...

First 'proper class' back since the festivities. So tough. We had a time cap on last WOD but was told I could finish if I wanted to so did. Strength portion was deadlifts ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š or at least I thought until we did them ๐Ÿ˜‚
10x60kg
5x67kg
5x80kg
5x90kg
10x60kg Argghhhh blooming hard work that.

Second WOD

3 rounds

20xGTOH (ground to overhead with plate)
49xskips
20xsitups
20xknee raises
20xwallballs
All sounded great until I realised I'd mashed my grip strength on the deadlifts and I had to break the sit-ups up so I didn't vom in the gym ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

All done though and PT sesh tomo ๐Ÿค” Time to get back in the game.

Nicely done, EB.

I finally broke through the chest press 35kg barrier. 3 reps @ 40kgs, then another 3 with my PT giving a tiny bit of assistance. Happy with that though.

That sounds horrific EB - well done!

I always used to struggle with bench press - women tend to have to increase weight in tiny increments on it.

I'm feeling a bit broken after 1st PT session of the year - January is volume month! Back to deadlifting a normal barbell though (been doing axle deadlifts for the past few months). Deadlift sets were 12 @ 80kg, 10 @ 90kg and 8 @ 100kg, followed by an amrap @ 70kg (I got 15 reps and almost died). I was pretty hysterical after each set ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Been very lax with lifting but Iโ€™ve got an eight week PT session starting next week. Looking forward to seeing his expression when faced with a wee grey haired old lady! Iโ€™ve done some of his gymfit classes and my daughter says heโ€™s brilliant, proper warm up and cool downs.

Well done cath ๐Ÿ˜Š that's awesome work! I struggle with bench I have no upper body strength at all. I also get a bit scared with all that weight baring down on me ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I_W I thought my deadlifts were hard work ๐Ÿ™ˆ I definitely would've died attempting them lol

Good luck with PT sessions Gus I really enjoy mine
