They did, Lorraine. And Cath Kidston floral tents. We had one of the child-sized pac-a-macs which I've just given away because it's too small for any of the children now. But they had woman-sized ones too.

I suppose on this thread we're well placed to make out own from a chunk of Rosali oilcloth from Ikea :)

i don't know about that, i've just had to do some running repairs on my fancy dress for tonight's wheelbeero race at the local carnival - sewing most definitely isn't my strong point!

nor is the girly dressing up bit, i'm hoping my friends will be able to make some improvements to me while we're supping our dutch courage wine ;)

Just remembered Mini2 needs a new dance costume for the next show in October. Might have to put the wooly things on hold and switch to lycra!

On a sadder note, I went to get some different size crochet hooks to find the local haberdashery has shut down :(

That's a shame. I cherish our local one.

*whispers* I quite like Cath Kidston.

It is a shame, although there is Duttons for Buttons in Harrogate our local one was a bit more convenient.

I've just sent off for some wool (proper stuff) as a result of discovering Ravelry - I blame this thread!
Now all I need is the self-discipline not to cast on muntil after my exam in October.
Back to revision.

Thats very pretty Mikuro - I like the bracelet as well.
Off to knit with that coarse Guernsey wool again- it keeps jumping up shouting B*ll*cks! Very coarse!

I'm guessing that cross-stitch pattern is actually more complex than it looks at first :)

I had a quietish morning and fairly batted up my first "second sleeve". The secons "second sleeve" is now in progress and hopefully I will have a jumper in time for proper winter :)

AND I found nine 1oz balls of pure wool 3-ply - eight of them the same dyelot of a caramel colour, one mint green - when I had a rummage among the tat in a charity shop yarn-bucket. It's soft enough for socks :)
