Jigsaws and putting clothing patterns together are a rather good match, I think. I suspect he'll be rather good at it :-)

Took me ages to get the hang of purling. I'm not a very confident knitter, I always seem to drop stitches....! Crochet seems to work better for me, I can do that for hours without thinking properly.... :) However I have managed to knit a baby jumper and a hat so I can't be that bad...I wish there were more crochet patterns!

P.S. On the subject of cross stitch I used to do loads when I was little, recently taken it back up when I found an awesome 'Oriental Cross Stitch' book in a charity shop and I have since made a huge geisha and a huge samurai and started on some little blue things in the style of Chinese blue pottery. Me likey.

I'd love to be able to crochet! I was thinking about that this evening when I was picking up and knitting the borders on my tea-cosy - it would have been so much easier and neater just to crochet an edge. I shall have to teach myself :)

I have a crochet baby shawl pattern I could copy for you if you like, Mik :)

Yes, of course, M4P! If any of my baby-pattern books have any other crochet patterns, I'll copy them.
