If they are not ‘darnable’ guess it depends how big and how bad, it would be possible to pick up a complete row around the sock and re knit a toe, my sleep deprived brain is just searching for the term you need to put into YouTube for a film of how it is done!

Are they toe up or cuff down?
Toe up would be harder as its more difficult to unravel from a cast on. If cuff down, put in a lifeline as far down the foot as you want to unravel back to, snip a thread of the graft, unravel back to lifeline, put live stitches onto needles and knit a new toe

It depends. Yarn weight is a continuum so the thick end of DK will blend into the thinned or worsted. I’d swatch and see if I got a fabric I liked at the gauge listed in the pattern.

The cat jumper I’m doing has a gauge of 24 st/10cm and suggested 4ply with 2.5 and 3.0 mm needles - that gauge was far too loose for my liking in 4ply so I’m actually using DK with 3.5 and 4.0 mm needles, the crucial point being that I’m hitting the 24st/10cm in a fabric that I like the weight and drape of

Just booked a ticket for this
cambridgeliteraryfestival.com
I think £14 plus a £2 booking fee is steep for a one hour talk, but at least I can walk there.
