Oh for an LYS! Our fabric shop is closing down early next year, it's a massive loss.

Good call re after school clubs. And I hadn't thought about charity shops but I think I've seen donated yarn in the Cancer Research shop. I'm mainly looking to get rid of smallish DK acrylic cakes.

My daughters’ primary school had a big bag of yarn and needles donated and many of them learned to knit squares!

I had quite a terrible experience selling on eBay recently, I found if it wasn’t worth over £10 it wasn’t worth selling. I sold some kids clothes and ended up making pennies after the fees were applied!

I inherited a stash of yarn from a friend (her aunt had gone into care because of dementia) because she knew I was knitter. I won’t use a lot of it so some went to a local knitting group, some to a charity shop and I used some to knit her a blanket to remember her auntie.

I always fancied making soap, I bought a book on it at one point! My sister in law makes some! Gives it to my mum who gives it to me!

What do you want to know EP? Lovely greens has some simple recipes for soap. lovelygreens.com

It’s a nice hobby but bear in mind that if you want to sell soap, cream, lip balm etc you need to have your recipe assessed and be registered with trading standards.
