Carol Feller is excellent. I look at Craftsy sometimes, and she is a natural teacher.

I think the thing is, is I’m a process knitter, I find the process enjoyable but if it’s not going to fit right, or be used much I can’t continue! One of my friends must have over 10 wips.... not that there’s anything wrong with lots of wips but I kind of just want one or 2 things and for them to be working! Infact spinning yarn always works which is why I keep that going! Weaving doesn’t really ‘go wrong’ like knitting can! It’s just scarves or ‘fabric’

Will look out for Carol Feller, thank you - there are so many patterns on Ravelry that it's hard to sift between them. And a good point on the notes, too. Jelly absolutely, it's the 'doing' I'm enjoying (I am very much a novice still) but I'm definitely having to learn patience too, and to view it as 'learning something' just as much as 'making something'. It's very satisfying when something 'clicks' though and suddenly makes more sense ![]() |

I'm totally a process knitter and I have no way of knowing while I'm knitting something whether it'll become something I wear all the time or something I end up giving away.

Yes I’m a process knitter too, I like different techniques and patterns. I really don’t get the people that make the same pattern several times! I’m definitely enjoying the brioche crochet, there’s some lovely mandalas and cushions to make with the technique. I think I like it because it’s interesting but can work with subtle colour combos. |

Yes I have a problem with the ‘giving away’ the person I’m giving too needs to appreciate the time and effort I’ve put in! Teenage son wants a mohair type holey sweater, husband wants an Aran sweater so I will be knitting for both of them soon! Made stepdaughter a pair of handknit socks and she ‘lost’ one!

When I've finished my lace shawl, I'd like to knit Mr GM and me chunky jumpers for next winter. I've spent ages on Ravelry looking for the right pattern but haven't come across it yet - I thought I had found a good one but when I downloaded it, it's not what I was after. Is there anywhere else I should look for patterns? I'm after a nordic-style, chunky, unisex. |
