Awesome! My mum has only recently replaced the cushion covers we made together, a long time ago. The insides were feather cushions from her grandmothers...

Question clever people

I am going to knit a yoda

I have perfect colour but it's not aran and the pattern I have found it

Can I increase the number of stitches to make it or am I better using 2 strands? It's 4 ply

Two strands of 4ply ~ dk, so you might need 3 strands EP.. but i think i’d do that rather than faff trying to work out how many extra sts you might need to make it a similar size just using one strand.. dk (ie 2 strands) would work fine i suspect, it might just be a bit smaller..

I would double or triple strand - probably swatch for gauge with both. You want a tight, dense fabric for a stuffed item else the stuffing will poke through.
You could do the maths to size up for a single strand and smaller needles, but it’s a lot of maths as row counts will need changing as well as stitch counts
