I think Wollmeise Pure would work nicely and be resilient enough for baby clothes, and it's lovely and smooth. I'm sure it would be easy to fall down a rabbit hole of correspondence with British indie dyers looking for something closer to home. I've got some very light blue (not pastel!) sock yarn from The Border Tart that I intend to use for baby clothes, but I haven't actually wound it yet so don't know how good it will be.

I was thinking Manley... that’s a name I’ve not come across! Hope it’s not a baby girl.

Mrs VJ is keeping busy during the lockdown. The crochet blanket is coming on

She’s also knitting a jumper - with no seams on round needles

I love the jewel-like crochet. Mrs VJ is very talented. And I bless the inventor of top-down seamless jumpers :)
