Great running outfit there, fabulous work, SS! There's some impressive crafting talent on here!

I have finished my new great-niece's cardy (coat? jacket? not totally sure what it is). Pleased that I have found a way to knit that doesn't make my dodgy thumb joints hurt. Best bit about making this was rootling around in my Mum's button collection jar to find 5 matching buttons, that really took me back to my childhood!

Ah yes, matinee jacket, that's the term I remember. Thanks, Gus.

It's a lovely little knit, mostly done in one piece from the top down, just the button bands added at the end though some people have done those in garter or moss stitch as they've knitted the whole thing. Pattern is from Ravelry, Provence Leafy Cardigan by Susan Mills Knits. Happy to upload it to our group's store if someone can tell me how to do it.

Super, JK :) I was going to ask about the construction; I have old patterns for matinee coats where you knit all the pieces flat, bottom up, and join them at the yoke which is quite the faff. This is probably why my mother insists that top-down knitting Cannot Be Done
