Thank you all :) note to self, if planning French seams add more fabric when cutting, I had to unpick the side seams on this and redo them.

I've currently got some chambray and French Terry in a fabric company's basket, just looking at other fabrics for fun.

following on from the Best thread
If you had, say, 80-90 commercial balls of sock wool most of which are single balls of colours what would you do with it?
Also apart from scarfs and ideas for those single special one off but-I-like-it skeins that need using
oh and minis too!
LOL

Loving my chevron blanket :-)

You could offer your least favourite balls for sale on Ravelry, Pix ;) There are threads for doing just that. Let the moths become someone else's problem.

Alternately, if you find you like knitting chevrons, the Zick-Zack scarf, which is just chevrons using more than one ball of variegated yarn and swapping at the end of every alternate row, is a simple and effective way of making something of challenging variegated colourways. And it can be adapted to make wraps and throws and bed runners if you have a long attention span.

I use my sock yarn for hats and mitts and socks, mostly, though some of it has become baby clothes for the fun of making them and cardigans for me.
