I did a tea cosy in ripple stitch, it was really effective! For colours, just lie them all out in different configurations, until there is one which shouts THIS IS YOUR FAVOURITE to you.

KK thanks i'm terrible at colours a tad on the "follow blindly as I have no idea" creativeness

Same here: people see what I've made and label it creative, but it's not, it's just productive, because I like to be making stuff while watching television in the evening. I follow patterns, but couldn't write one to save my life!

I've got a 10-stitch blanket that I can happily knit away on without really thinking about it. I might try the ripple one for my friend who has been dropping big hints

I need simple and no thought so I can watch TV and knit without thinking!
I know I shouldn't complain as some (eg proper key people not just someone who works with biscuits) but WFH is so tiring no idea why as still doing the same full time hours no more

I think I might save the yellow for something else and do a sequence of X rows white, 2X rows purple, X rows white, 2X rows blue, continuing until you're happy with the shape of the blanket.

See no idea!

It can be tricky to make four colours "look right", though not impossible.

Just read your blog Vrap, and I'll see your jumper-half-a-sleeve-from-completion and raise you a jumper-a-sleeve-and-a-half-from-completion, and I've just started a cardigan using the same yarn, thus ensuring it never gets finished. I feel an unravelling coming on.
