i can do both but I'm a beginner still
I'm happier knitting but maybe I should try more crochet? Not done more than a basic granny square! I bought them for a CAL but it was too tricky for me

Really easy? Hold two or three strands of one colour together and knit garter stitch stripes. More effective than it has any right to be.

Slightly less easy but still easy? The chevron pattern on the blanket in my blog is just knit and purl and a simple increase and decrease.

I used that yarn for a knit ripple blanket - I held it double and used big needles so it was quick

And again here

The ripple pattern is the same as this

Ripple patterns are brilliant too. I'm going to do one of those next, for Tink's room, in her favourite colour and in Aran.

I find the rhythmic counting a great stress-reliever.

So next question

what order would you use the colours in?
