Fingers crossed for the interview Nick. I saw a job today that I applied for before Christmas that has come back on the job boards. I'm going to apply again with a reworded CV and letter and through a different agency and see where that gets me. I'm guessing sometimes they recruit someone who then decides not to accept or accepts but then leaves straight away so they have to start again.

They do indeed Elsie. One of the hazards of recruiting is that the business changes rapidly and you can be halfway through recruiting someone when the requirement changes/goes away. It can be almost as frustrating for those of us doing the recruiting as it is for candidates. And candidates have been known to accept a job and then change their mind at the last minute too....

My interview last week must have gone well, as I thought. I have been asked back for a second interview, still awaiting details but probably Monday next week and I will have to do a presentation, which they mentioned to me at the first interview but I should get full details of what they want tomorrow so that I can start preparing. I am really over this job hunting, so really hope this goes well and I land the job.

I got the job. Money's not very good, but the job sounds interesting and the people seem nice.
Hoping for a start date 25th Jan. Gives me next week to spend some redundancy money on a new motorbike.

Well done Nick Cook. Any news Elsie Too? I have spent the week with my head up my bum I think, for someone with a sales history,I'm finding selling my self rather difficult. Head in a whirl and doubts my date of birth at present 😰

Congrats Nick. I have had the second interview confirm, Monday afternoon. I have to give a presentation on how I will integrate with the team and my plan for the first 60 days. I've started putting it together today and my boss from my last job is going to listen to it tomorrow and give me feedback. MeLAR, you are bound to find this first bit really hard. Do you have friends that you can talk it all through with? I've found it really useful to chat with the others from my company that are all also job hunting to bounce ideas off and compare notes on where to look for jobs, etc. feel free to use us on here if it helps.

I like that CStar 😀.. Not many to chat too sadly, most just want gossip ! not used to all this time on my hands and some of these on line application forms are just sooo far fetched.

I find that a good go at an application form can take a full day of work - it is hard work and a full time job looking for work. I didn't appreciate that until I was there. I've been trying to get a routine where I spend the first hour of the day looking for jobs to apply to, get them in a spreadsheet with the closing date of the application written down and other key points like the salary and where it is, then I can chose which ones to spend the most time on and which day I need to get each one done.
Having said that, my routine is off at the moment because I'm having to prepare a presentation for my interview on Monday so I'm not going to even look for other jobs to apply to until Tuesday so that I can focus on this one (but with the knowledge that I applied for 3 other jobs earlier this week).
