All references at my place, regardless of job role or position, are written by our HR officer and signed by the Chief Exec.
So potentially, they'd both be identical...

I think it's fine DG. No one sticks their neck out and says anything much in employer references anymore because they don't want to be liable for giving any wrong information. Basically they're saying, yes he worked here for the period (s) he said he worked here and also no, he didn't get sacked.

Hi Mrs S. It's not been too bad this week. I just find it really frustrating that I'm either reformatting things which don't work properly or dealing with other peoples' mistakes/oversights from last year! Our office manager doesn't seem bothered about keeping centralised systems strong and a lot of it is passed to me. My boss has always been a bit peed off with the OM; I'm starting to see why.

I have 2 identical clincal references as they from the same template from sister companies, only difference is they are signed by different people and no one has ever complained so can't see it being a problem DG

It is what it is re references. When I worked for the employment agency in the dim and distant past, that would not have concerned me!
My position is harder, as I have worked as business partners with one business partner for the last 19 years! Before that I ran my own translating agency and employed other translators... It has been at least 25 years since I was last employed in the strict sense!
But when I started applying for jobs and needed references, I thought I'd ask one of our trustees to be a referee, alongside the business partner... Never needed them in the end as now happily building up a free lance practice, being my own boss again... I suspect I am virtually unemployable, having worked more or less for my own or on my own initiative for so long!

Hmm, got a call this afternoon about a job which pretty much ticks all my requirements... other than pay. But it might take me in the right direction, and if it does I guess it might be worth the paycut. I could live on what they want to pay, it's just that dropping down would feel a bit like a step backwards rather than forwards. Worth investigating further though, I think..

YP, surely if they want you, they'll pay a proper rate for you?

Hopefully, and the agent thinks that if they find the right person they might move, but if they are really looking for someone more junior to train up then they might go for someone less experienced but cheaper. We'll see.

2 sales jobs came my way straight from the owners: one in the Maldives/Mauritius and the other in Singapore. Each are 2 year contracts.
For Maldives/Mauritius: they are looking for a male salesperson - due to the religious environment
Both are looking for someone who is hard working and would be interested in determining hotels/restaurants cleaning product needs. Msg me if any of you are interested. thx

Hi folks
You may remember that some weeks back I posted on how stupidly busy it it. My boss spoke to the big boss to ask if his PA could take on the extra man I work for who is in another team. Now she already works for big boss and another chap who is in the same small team as my extra man. She has also lost a person to work for, so it'd make sense for her to take on extra man. I've yet to hear the outcome of that conversation, but I don't think I will lose extra man. I actually like working for him, but I don't have the time.
Anyway, I also went to have training today with a person who administrates for another region. He only does the admin side of my role and not the secretarial. We concluded I have far too much to do! Where to go from here ... ?
