Thanks, RS, HP and Hanneke! Sent an email to say 'yes', and am already starting to get rather nervous about 6th January...

Hope something will come up for everyone else soon, too!

*snigger*

Just reading a job description which contains this bullet point:
• Ability to liaise with product vendors and 3rd parties where necessary in a professional manor.

I wonder where their professional manor is? Also, is it like a country manor, but in the city?

Thanks, kwala. :-)

A professional manor sounds a bit like where they do business I wouldn't want to be involved with. :-o

My first ever job contract in the UK. :-)

And I'm clueless... I hope you don't mind me asking here? You guys all seem to be very knowledgeable, whereas I'm daft...

One of the questions on the health questionnaire I have to fill in is "Have you suffered from a medical condition in the last 24 months that has required you to be absent from work for [x] days?" Now, I've been on interruption from my studies on medical grounds, but have been working during that time, so haven't actually been absent from work. However, I'm sure I've been off for a few days here or there with the flu/cold/etc, but have no idea whether this was more than ten days or not (under ten days, you don't have to indicate it on the form). Given that I was self-employed, it was down to me to just work more the next day anyway...

The contract itself sounds more vague in many respects than I'm used to. One point I'm not sure about is sickness allowance - since it doesn't say, can I assume that this is per full year of employment? If I fall sick, will I be entitled to the sickness allowance up to the maximum period indicated within a year, or each separate time I fall sick (not that I'm planning to, mind!)?
