Indeed, loads of jobs I'd fancy are in London. I'm back to not really looking - I wasn't desperate and if I can't have the job I wanted the next best option is the job I already have. Mind you, speaking of the job I wanted, the looming fan full of shit may be hitting and I now don't need to get involved in sorting it out. I always knew it was there and it would have been interesting but very stressful whereas now I can just sit and watch it play out .

Well I'm happy to go in a few days a week and now I am more au fait with cycling I could do it a few times a week I suspect without too much trouble. Its about 1:30 min end to end on public transport here and probably the same cycling once up and going as its door to door (shower dependent of course). Its the cost of trains and standing up that puts me off!

I had a lovely surprise on Saturday through the post. As some people on here know, I was bullied in my last role at a university and was forced to leave. However, the maternity cover contract prior to that at the same place was a lovely job, working with lovely people. So anyway, I got a card and gift voucher from people in the previous department saying good luck and goodbye. They'd already bought me a leaving present when I switched departments, so that was really unexpected and completely lovely. It's restored my faith in the place a fair bit.

Hope you enjoyed your voucher RS.
You remember that job in London I applied for... Well I interviewed on Friday and they offered it to me yesterday.
Okay so here is the problem. Current work now secure, 4 weeks notice, in the middle of wine exams, going well, but still working two evenings a week and Sundays and earning peanuts. I do love the job, and the free time, but no prospects of taking it anywhere.
New job is slightly different from what I interviewed, 22k, but in London with a review after six months to see if I am able to step into the original interviewed role. I really like the place (still in wine, but using my other skills too) and the guy I would be working for. Its a start up so lots to do and lots of control and lots of opportunities, but 42.5 hours a week and commuting into London for basically £200 a month extra money after train fare. Hmmmm.
I am feeling better mostly from illness, but I wouldn't be able to marathon train on those hours I don't think, but am not planning on one this year currently anyway. Tube commute takes and hour and a half each way (door to door).
Thoughts?
