Yo yo yo! I'm back, kinda.
Managed an easy 5 minutes on Tuesday and an easy 2k on Thursday. Might see what 15 minutes feels like at lunchtime too.
Still getting the odd twinge of "referred pain" around my right hip/quad now and then when I move in a way that I haven't yet but mostly I'm back to almost normal and the physio has basically given me a bunch of mobility and S&C stuff to do for a couple of weeks while I explore what I can and can't do and push a little bit around the edges.
Good lord it felt good to be back on the rower!

Definitely, Muttley. In terms of the bits where I get pain the physio keeps using the phrase "Go to it, not through it." which is good advice. Equally I just need to increase things (both duration and pace) slowly and cautiously.
Having said that 3km ticked off and the ave pace is down to 2:15, which is nice. I think that's more down to the stroke mechanics getting a bit closer to ideal rather than anything else. HR is way too high for that pace, though, so I just need to keep it easy until things settle back into a routine.

Another little stint on the rower this morning. Did all my mobility stuff before and then did a steady 4km @r18. All felt good, no issues from the back (or anything else), and also managed to hit a royal flush with the splits which is nice.

My quads are killing me after a tough half marathon over the weekend so this morning it was just a gentle 15 minutes to loosen them up on the rower. I think it did some good but I'm still walking like I just climbed off a horse.

Ouch! Hope they’ve eased off a bit tomorrow, Muttley.
Good to see you getting your mojo back, Nellers. I could definitely learn from the ‘Go to it, not through it’ advice.

Just done my first session of the RowAlong 5K plan - 6 x 4min intervals. The video was a really good motivator. Definitely helped me keep to the suggested rate. Thanks for the recommendation, Muttley.

Looked like a good session from the log entry, CW. Well done.
Hope the legs come back soon, Muttley, and well done on a Half. I bet that was a bit of a lumpy one if it's near your home patch.
I did 3 x 1500m on the erg last night and so far so good. Each time I'm feeling a bit more natural, although I'm still working a lot harder than I should to be holding r18 and a 2:15 split. It'll come back. I just need patience and health.

You're welcome, CW. I'm back to random RowAlong sessions now. The Beginners PP is fine but it does get samey and I'd had enough by week 6.
So, 3 x 12 minutes 1 minute rests, at 20 spm 2k+18-20/18 spm 2k+20-22/20 spm 2k+18-20. Probably wouldn't have made any difference if I'd just stuck at 20 spm but I followed it to the letter.
After a gentle jog yesterday the quads seem more or less recovered so normal service is resumed.

12 minute pieces feel long at this stage! Well done, Muttley, and glad you're feeling less soreness.
I did 5 x 1000m at r18 last night. It's coming back slowly.
