Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Back in mid July I entered The Grid competition, it seemed a good idea at the time, 4 x TTs during September - 1 x sprint, 1 x short distance, 1 x mid distance and 1 x long distance, it's been so hot this week I haven't fancied doing TTs but I finally made a start today with the sprint (choice of 100m, 1 min or 500m) the 100m was tempting but I went for the 1 minute, managed 315m (1:35.2 pace), I was gearing up for a fast finish but those last 10 seconds were horrible and all I could do was watch my pace drift 🤣 might have another go at some point.

🤞 it cools down for the longer TTs!

Speedy, Craggy! Well done, mate, and the cooler weather you'd ordered seems to have arrived.

Knocked out my first proper speedwork session of this plan this morning (4 x 90 seconds @ r30+) and was surprised by the paces I was able to hold. A bit cautious on the first one (1:43.9) then went for it after that and the other 3 were under 1:43. Didn't really expect that but it does show that the power is there and it's the endurance end of the scale that I'm needing to work on I think.

Yes definitely cooler - dammit I've got no excuse now to avoid the longer TTs 😬

Well done mate that's a good pace for 90s reps as they're not far short of 500m! Are you tempted by BRIC this year or just going to see where you are in a couple of months? I don't fancy training specifically for it but if I'm in decent shape come November I might have a look.

I’m toying with the idea of going to Fitfest as a spectator but I’m not going to race BRIC while I’m there. Just freewheeling through the plan and see where it gets me by year end.

Always a bonus ... I love it when a plan comes together!

I’m a little jealous of those paces!
