Thanks Muttley I’ll have a look. It’s certainly adding interest and variety to my rowing and hopefully some better form will rub off on me by watching others.

ES, you could also try Zoom Ergos:

zoomergos.com

They've got a few row-along videos available at the bottom of the page for streaming anytime, and are also back doing live Zoom sessions. I've done quite a lot of these and have enjoyed the variety and also the advice on technique you pick up along the way.

Evening all.
Had a few recent niggles that I was getting over and then a decent dose of Covid took me out for a few days.
The comeback is now on, but taking small steps as I can tell that I am not 100%
Plan is slow and steady, but regularly for the next month at least.

Glad you're well enough to get back at it, Sinj, but sorry you've had such a rough time. Take it steady while you fully recover.

That sounds nasty, Sinj. Here's hoping the covid clears completely, too many stories about it lingering.

For me this morning 5 x 10-minute stroke ladders, counting down (or up) from 20 spm for the first four mins to 26 for the last. I'd say 6-7 out of 10 effort. I like stroke ladders.

Morning,

Getting back into rowing after a few years away.
I have a concept model D with an PM3 monitor. Is it worth upgrading to a PM5? This wasn’t available when I bought the rower a few years ago. I have read several reviews and they seem to be mixed.

Any thoughts?

Welcome back to rowing, Stiltonman, and welcome to the thread.

Without dodging your question I'd say the answer is "It depends".

The PM3 does a perfectly good job of recording your rowing and showing what you're getting in the moment. If that's enough for you then don't waste your money.

Where the PM5 scores over it is that it can connect to HR monitors and smartphone apps, transfer your training data, upload training sessions etc. The actual functionality as a monitor isn't much different but if you are a data freak and want to track your progress by power and HR etc then the PM5 is definitely the way to go.

Thanks Nellers.

I do have heart rate but it does drop out quite often.

Think I’ll wait and see how training progresses. There are certain ly big gains to be made first.

Might ask Father Christmas 🎅 for a PM5.
