^ Ha! :-)

I've not studied the plans yet Craggy, but from what I've seen of running plans for older types the emphasis is on proper warmups and cooldowns and more hard workouts with longer recoveries between sessions. They say performance tails off from the mid-50s and I certainly feel that. My next birthday is my 61st. Yikes.

Every once in a while I step back and start over again with the Beginner PP. But one of those Breaking Muscle schedules will be next.

Just catching up after lying low for a few weeks. There's some good training going on here. Well done on your 1K, Sinj. And good to see you hitting your stride again, Nellers.

I've had a few issues with my PM5 and/or ErgData over the past few weeks where it's either lost an interval or added some extra distance to my workout when importing it to Fetch. I downloaded ErgZone last week but haven't given it a go yet. It looks like you have to pre-programme your workout in ErgZone. Is that right?

I have that about 2 or 3 times a month CW. I either get the distance of the last rep duplicated or missed completely. No idea why it does that because the C2 Log entry is complete so I just manually correct it on here.

Never heard of ErgZone before someone mentioning it yesterday. Might have alook and see what that's all about. I've got the "ErgIQ" app on my Garmin though, and that's OK for an emergency cover, although it doesn't record distance which is surely a bit of an oversight!

I think a few of us like to fall back onto the PP sessions Muttley, nice to try new plans though, will be interested to see how you get on Mr Guinea Pig ☺️

Nice to see you getting some good metres in recently CW!
There's loads of sessions on Ergzone for example Fitness Matters (who have a good Facebook group btw) have their workout of the week on there, you just choose a session and click start (then connect to your Erg).
Or you can create your own workout which seemed a bit faffy when I first looked a few months ago, but tbh it's probably quicker than programming your PM5, and once it's done it's saved under your workouts so it's easy to repeat.
From what I've seen you can display HR by actual HR, HR zones or HR percentages.
Not sure if you can display drag factor, stroke length etc like Ergdata, will have to play about with it .

Thanks, Craggy. I've been doing lots of Zoom Ergos sessions, which I've found really motivating.

I'll have a look at some of the sessions on ErgZone. I experimented with it yesterday by setting up a short warm-up session. I can definitely see the benefits for intervals sessions but not sure about longer SS sessions where I'd probably want to see things like stroke length displayed. And you've reminded me, I must get a HR monitor sorted out!

Nellers – glad I'm not the only one with data getting skewed on import. I thought it might be a problem with my PM5.

Muttley, I'd be interested in taking a look at the plans, please. I've had a couple of bashes at the Beginners' PP, which was great. I tipped over into the F50 category a couple of days ago, so would be interested to see what adjustments they suggest for older rowers.

Yes I agree CW, I like to see the extra info on longer ss rows, Ergzone would be handy for intervals as I believe it shows all your previous splits rather than just the current one.

A nice 10 mile @r20 this morning whilst watching a running documentary... which turned out to be in a foreign language with no subtitles πŸ€”

How far in were you before you realised? Because I think I'd have stopped and switched over, mate, no matter where I'd got to!

3 x 3km at tempo (2:03ish) this morning. Should have been 4 but I'm feeling the metres from this week and decided not to break myself on it pushing for the last rep. Happy with the week and the progress.

I was only about 500m in but I was pushed for time this morning so I carried on, I kinda got the gist of it - he ran a long way and made a mess of his feet πŸ˜‚

Nice work mate best to listen to your body, you've had a good weeks training though and it's nice to see you back at it!

Just a steady 8,000 metres this morning. Beginners Pete Plan. Felt good.

Plans emailed to you, CW (and also to Nellers a few days back).

I meant to thank you for that, Muttley. Rude of me.

I've only had a chance to skim the plans so far but there's some interesting sessions in there. I might drop some into my training and see what they feel like.
