I gave the rower a day off today and did a little run and some strength stuff. You'll be jumping to the top of the league in the morning Craggy. Well done, mate.

Thanks mate, when I saw the sun and blue skies this morning I was very tempted to go for a run!
Enjoy your rest, you've had a good weeks training!

I did go for a run, it was a cracking day here. I suspect there won't be too much running midweek though, having seen the forecast.

Looks like tomorrow and Thursday are going to be bad enough here in Essex. I suspect you might be a tad more exposed Muttley!

Got back on a plan again now. Just done 6 x 2km @ tempo with 1:40 rests. Felt like a lot of volume but surprised by how comfortable the pace felt. All but the first one under 2:04 pace and that was only 2:04.1.

All very satisfying except that ErgData failed and I've then spent half an hour mucking about with TCX files and correcting stuff that's linked all over the place incorrectly!

I think you might be correct there, Nellers. The shipping forecast this morning mentioned storm 10 and for somewhere a violent storm 11. Yikes. Muttley Jnr until recently was in the Navy and tells me that anything over a force 6 is unpleasant at sea (and he was in a submarine below the surface).

That's some nice metres and pacing there. That 2k pb is there for the taking, y'know!

Incidentally, I have copies of three training plans by Breaking Muscle. One is a general plan in xls format, and two pdfs for masters 50+ and masters 60+.

They're quite heavy on stroke rates and times rather than distances and look quite demanding.

They're free plans. I had to give an email so presumably that address will get newsletters and spam forever more. Is it possible to host docs on this site? Alternatively, ping me via Fetchmail if you want them.

That's if anyone wants them, not Nellers exclusively :-)

I’ve been quiet recently.
C25K running is going well. I’ve forgotten how hard running actually is. Ankle is holding up well, it’s just everything else that hurts now.

Had a crack at the World Indoor sprints today. No specific training for this but happy with a 3:16.4
3 seconds quicker than last year.

Might have another go on Sunday.

I’m interested in the training plans Muttley so will fmail you.

That 6x2k off short rests is a good session Nellers, I bet those 100 seconds flew by! My Ergdata has disconnected a couple of times recently, I might give Ergzone a try.

Glad you found some Masters plans Muttley, which one are you going to try?

That's a very fast 1k Sinj, well done you've got some power!

I tried a session from the Eddie Fletcher marathon plan tonight, 4x15'/4r, the 15 mins are made up of 6' at 5k pace into 9' at marathon pace (5k pace is actually a training pace rather than TT pace - thankfully). HR is supposed to determine your pace, I averaged 1:57.7 and 2:04.8, although I couldn't get my HR up to the desired level on the 6' the paces were about as expected.

Muttley is looking good for the "Daily champion on the smallest amount of metres" award again!
