I opted for the short WOD today: stroke pyramid, 1 - 15 and back off 3 easy strokes in between. Though once I got beyond 10 I increased the rest strokes in the interests of not hammering my heart rate too much (= keeping it the right side of 170...). A short and sweaty one was just what I needed having abandoned a run because it was too dark, cold and wet.

I fancy trying that one SK, totally forgot about it today. Managing to get a couple of sessions a week in, mainly shorter ones.

I enjoyed it Lesley C - as usual on the erg, it felt like a lot of effort packed into less than 15 minutes!
A challenge-saver today after a run, back to a better session tomorrow.

Did 50 minutes of 10 minute stroke rate ladders tonight, which gets me just past the 200km marker for January. Pleased with that, and I've got my long session tomorrow so should get another 20km on the clock.

Nice work Nellers especially with the calf issue mid month - you're getting back to your old self! Big metres today mate is that your longest session yet?
This month I'll have clocked about the same as Decembers total of 170k but I've also managed to add 60 miles of running so happy with that.

It was actually. I've done bigger days but split over 2 sessions. Descending steps of 40, 30, 20 , 10 minutes with a short break between each one. Clocked a bit over 23km in total, and with the pieces getting smaller as the fatigue increased it seemed fairly manageable.
Those monthly totals sound promising Craggy. Nice work. Everything feeling like it's staying where it's meant to? No big pops or cracks or snapping sounds?

Big big session mate well done, your standard 40-50 min sessions this week will feel nice and short after that! I do like the descending reps on long sessions.
All good thanks mate there's been no unsettling noises 😁 feeling quite fit and strong from doing mostly aerobic metres on the rower.

Spot on Craggy. 5 x 10 minute stroke rate sequences was over before I'd realised (almost!).
Wanted to say well done to Sinj. Spotted earlier that he hit his 400km total for January so big big metres and big big kudos to you, mate.
