I'm not a binger, so I can find a happy balance with my Xmas food, I'd rather allow for it and look forward to it as little evening treats. Just not as many as I'm currently having :p

There is always excess food at work, thankfully I only go into the office twice a week- before Christmas it was ridiculous in there lol

I am glad that most of the Christmas treats have gone! I’m 2.3 kg lighter than last NY, but up on the 3 years before that. I’d like to lose 4-5 kg. I have a birthday this week, so a few meals out planned, but that should still be manageable.

I need to keep my toblerone treat in check. Of course I went and bought another one ( yeah the large ones ) as they were half price. Back to 3 to eat plus an even bigger one.

Gymfreak - sorry to hear you've been injured for so long. You might be surprised if you weigh yourself that you've not gained as much weight as you think.

Not being able to exercise due to Covid and sciatica I knew I'd put on a lot of inches/fat but there was negligible increase in my weight. Now I've managed to get my mileage back up to a reasonable level and with my new gym plan, I've already lost 7+ inches even though I'd only lost 4 pounds.

Staring today too. Some chocolates and stollen left which are now in the freezer - I can’t throw food away either but freeze everything, if it’s not quite as nice it can usually be used in cooking. Chops, cake and mince pies usually do OK. It’s quite a relief to be honest. Going to have sprouts with my tea later though!

I've had a sort out of Christmas goodies.
The chocolate I can't resist (Cadbury) is in the freezer; the chocolate I can resist (After Eights) are in the cupboard. One or two occasionally can be factored in, if Geoff hasn't scoffed them all by then!
The amaretti and shortbread biscuits I'd baked are eaten and the surplus dough frozen in individual portions. Surplus sourdough bread buns are also in the freezer.
The (rather large as it was home made) half a Christmas cake has been put out of sight. I've not been tempted yet but I may need to come up with an alternative solution if it starts calling to me.
All the cheese - we had so much - has been portioned and frozen, along with the surplus tub of brandy cream, which we'll use at Easter wit the spare Christmas pudding, as is our tradition.
We started back on our healthy eating plan 3 days ago and I've not strayed yet. It's been quite nice having soup and casseroles and other proper meals after so many "picky teas".
I am resisting the urge to bake. I enjoy it and find it relaxing. But it's no good adding to the cake and bread stash at the moment.

I did wonder why you were using chops in the same sentence as cake and mince pies 😂😂

GM/NR- I had no idea you could freeze chocolate!

I will work my way slowly through my stash but not buy any more. I have been restrained so far at not buying the reduced Xmas stuff in the supermarkets :)

Shades, my back is a nightmare. 2021 I had a year of not being able to do much at all. 2023 (though it only seems 5 minutes ago) I had a herniated L5/S1 which took a few months to fix, and now a muscular thing again but it's improving now. It came about from too much sitting in a car (there was a lot of it) in October half term believe it or not!!! I'm riding at least and back to my 4x gym sessions which are weight but I'm looking forward to being back to normal levels of activity.

With running, achilles has been a problem since May but maybe this time off with my back has fixed my achilles, we will see when I do C25k day 1 on Saturday!

Maybe you're right about weight Shades but if I haven't put on too much weight I have certainly put on several inches, my jeans can provide me with that information.
